Gestio

A local, encrypted, free password manager.

Your passwords stay on your computer. No cloud, no account, no tracking. For Windows.

What Gestio does

Encrypted, local vault

Your credentials are encrypted on your device and unlocked by a single master password. No server, no sync: there is nothing to intercept anywhere but on your machine.

Password generator

Creates strong passwords, or easy-to-remember passphrases, at the length and format you choose.

2FA authenticator

Your one-time codes (TOTP) live in a separate vault, with its own password. Your two factors aren't in the same place.

Breach alerts

Gestio tells you if a password has appeared in a known breach, without ever sending your passwords in the clear.

Recovery key

An optional key, generated at setup, to regain access if you forget your master password. Keep it away from your computer.

Offline, no account, 6 languages

No sign-up, no login required. Encrypted backup, import from other managers, and an interface in 6 languages.

Why it's free

Free, and you're not the product. No ads, no tracker, no data resale, no account to create. Software meant to guard your passwords has no business selling them.

Gestio is given away for free, on purpose, because it's useful. And because it's encrypted and local, even its author cannot read your vault.

It's built to be open and verifiable: a security tool you can't inspect doesn't deserve your trust.

Questions

Is Gestio really free?

Yes, completely. No paid tier, no locked features, no subscription.

What's the catch?

There isn't one. No ads, no data collection, no resale. It's a local app given away for free.

Do my passwords leave my computer?

No. The vault is encrypted and stored on your device. There is no server and no sync.

What if I forget my master password?

Without a recovery key the vault is unrecoverable, by design. Enable the recovery key at setup to protect yourself.

Is it open source?

The code is meant to be open and verifiable.

Which systems does it run on?

Windows for now.
